ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY - WHAT ELSE YOU NEED TO KNOW: 

This opportunity is for a period of 12 months  

This role provides essential administrative and operational support to the North West Licensing team, contributing to the efficient and effective delivery of water licensing functions. With a focus on natural resource management and water resource assessment, the position involves assessing licence and permit applications in accordance with the Rights in Water and Irrigation Act 1914. The successful candidate undertakes low-risk assessments of water resource impacts, ensuring alignment with relevant departmental plans, policies, and guidelines, and supports the consistent application of regulatory requirements across the team. 

 

Key responsibilities:  

  • Coordinate and maintain accurate water licensing records, including preparing high-quality correspondence, reports, and briefing materials to support team operations. 
  • Assist in the assessment process by collecting, collating, and analysing information to inform water licensing and natural resource management decisions. 
  • Contribute to the delivery of projects and initiatives by supporting practical solutions to natural resource management challenges in collaboration with the wider team. 
  • Provide effective administrative support, including organising meetings, managing follow-up actions, and ensuring compliance with departmental record-keeping and governance requirements.
